PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST CANCELLATION OF MARITIME UNIVERSITY, OKERENKOKO.

Few weeks ago, the Minister of transportation of Nigeria, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi moved a motion to the senate to cancel a Maritime University at Okerenkoko Community of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta state of Nigeria for some frivolous reasons according to him. The minister said (Amaechi) that the university should be cancel because it is a waste of money, he said it should be cancel because no parents would send their children to school there, he said it should be cancel because there were no building structures on ground, and finally he said because there was an institution in Oron, Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria, and Nigeria College of Aviation, Zaria that could be upgraded to University standard he said.

The Nigeria Maritime University Okerenkoko was approved by former president Goodluck Jonathan through its Agency Nimasa, and it is the only Maritime University in Nigeria. The question for Amaechi now is if this University was to be in his community, would he had moved the motion for FG to cancel it? also he said nobody would send their children there to study, how is that even possible? that is a pure lie Mr Minister, most Federal Universities i know in Nigeria are located in thick forest and most are far away from main cities, and yet students still go there to study, and these Universities have population even on an isolated places, then why is Amaechi saying that no parents will send their children there to study. Gbaramatu Kingdom is a busy place and it has many oil refineries around it, many foreigners go there to work in the oil companies, the Excravos river and Chevron is from there, ship export oil and products from there, why then would the Minister said that nobody would go there to study?. This is a University that would bring development to Gbaramatu Kingdom, Niger Delta and Nigeria, and as a President from the Niger-Delta region. i can recall that he built many other universities in the North and other part of Nigeria, and it was the one in Niger-Delta Okerenkoko that should be cancelled, why didnt the Minister asked the senate to cancel all the Universities built by President Jonathan in other parts of Nigeria, is it that President Jonathan does not have the right to propose or approve University that he wish to approve? because i dont know understand. This so call Amaechi is from this same Niger-Delta, it is very clear that the Minister does not want the progress and development of Niger-Delta, this is an act of wickedness. Since President Buhari assumed office, his government has been fighting all those that supported former President Jonathan and PDP members, ordering EFCC to probe people illegally, and the probe didnt extend beyond PDP members, the question is, what about all the APC people that were in office under Jonathan's administration, why cant they be probed too? someone like Amaechi and Timipre Sylva will be walking freely, meanwhile they are the founders of corruption, please Mr President fight the fight fairly. During Amaechi tenure as the governor of Rivers state, so many students were sent abroad to student, since December 2014 these students have not been paid their feeding and accommodation money, some have been sent back to Nigeria by their Universities due to not payment of tuition fees and feeding money, some have been finding other ways to survive, it is only God that is saving these students, you sent students abroad to study and abandoned them, is that fair? then this same Amaechi is saying that the only University president approved to be built in Niger-Delta should be cancelled. It was the new governor of Rivers state, Wike who has tried his best to pay most of the students fees. It is obvious that Amaechi does not want the progress of the Niger-Delta as a whole, but God wont let him. I believe he is working for the North and President Buhari.

I am not against anybody, i do not mind who ever that leads Nigeria, all we want is do the right thing and Develop the Nigerian state for us. President Buhari would succeed if he stops listening to bad advisers, not all the advisers are telling him the right thing to do. I pray God should direct him to do the right thing.

President Jonathan didnt do anything wrong when he callled Buhari to congratulate him on his victort at the last year's 2015 general election, something nobody has ever done in the world, not even the US or UK has that happened before, Jonathan didnt make any trouble, he left the Aso Rock House peacefully and Buhari came in. Why then President Buhari led government is destroying all the things Jonathan had done while he was the president, what would have happened if Jonathan had won the election?, or if he did not accept defeat and congratulated Buhari? Nigeria we should think, 80% of the people in APC now were all in PDP, and they all campaigned for Jonathan during the 2015 election, all of them betrayed Jonathan. The man has left the presidential seat for you, please let him be sir, i beg you in the name of God. i am a student and i learn new things everyday, before they said we Niger-Delta people we love trouble, we love war, now that our own son President Goodluck Jonathan approved this University to be built in the Niger-Delta so that our people will not be travelling and sending their children to abroad to study like myself, we the Niger-Deltans say no to cancellation of our Maritime University, Okerenkoko, we want our school back.

Due to the cancellation motion raised by the Minister of Transport, Amaechi, a peaceful protest was made at Asaba, Delta state  government house today 26th of January 2015, for the Federal Government not to cancel the University, the Niger-Deltans have the right to own a Maritime univeristy and go to school in our region, the University project must go on, cancelling this University would bring problem and there will be no peace except President Buhari stop the cancellation of the Martime University.

The Minister also said there were no building constructions on ground at the school, meanwhile he was informed wrongly. All the building at the temporary site of the University have been completed, and work is in progress at the permanent site. we want to let the whole world know that we the Niger-Deltans can not be oppressed, Jonathan had the right to approve a University and the Buhari government should continue with the University project, this University will bring substantial development to Niger-Delta.

Lecturers Of Korede Bello Vow To Resign If He Is Allowed To Write Exams- Leadership News

Popular musician Korede Bello is allegedly not having the best of times as a student.

It was gathered that the Mavin records act who recently had his matriculation for his Higher National Diploma (HND), at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) is currently having problem with his lecturers.

An anonymous source allegedly disclosed that some of Korede Bello’s lecturers have threatened to resign if the singer is allowed to write his exams because he has not met up with 70% of his class attendance for the semester.

The source also added that the one of his lecturers in his class disclosed that he will resign if Korede Bello is allowed to sit for his exams later this year because he has not been attending lectures due to his busy schedule.

It will confirm what is already known that it is hard to combine a teeming music career with schooling. The likes of Wizkid and Olamide have had to drop out while they pursued their careers. Most people still can’t believe how Davido managed to graduate from university with a reported first class degree he said.

X-Factor Judge Simon with family had stroll at the beach

UK X-Factor Judge Simon, 56, and wife Lauren Silverman, decided to keep things low-key on friday, going for a relaxing stroll on the beach with their son Eric and two dogs. what a cute son.

A Muslim woman was kicked out of Donald Trump's event

A Muslim woman was removed from Donald Trump's campaign event in South Carolina on Friday after standing in silent protest following one of the Republican front-runners controversial immigration comments.
Rose Hamid, 56, attended the event in Rock Hill wearing a hijab and a shirt that read 'Salam, I come in peace,' hoping that her presence might manage to change the opinion some Trump supporters have about members of the Islam faith.
She positioned herself directly behind Trump, and when he began to speak about Syrian refugees being banned from entering the United States and suggested that many had ties to ISIS, she silently stood up out of her seat.
Police immediately escorted her out of the event while the audience booed the woman and yelled at her to 'get out,' with one man screaming; 'You have a bomb, you have a bomb.'
After Hamid had been removed, Trump said to the audience; 'There is hatred against us that is unbelievable. It's their hatred, it's not our hatred.

Trump Donald

'I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I'd give them the opportunity to meet one,' Hamid told CNN about her decision to attend the event after the incident.
'I really don't plan to say anything. I don't want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might - we'll just see what strikes me.'
Prior to her protest she said that things had been going well, and that the people she spoke with seemed receptive and eager to talk.
'The people around me who I had an opportunity to talk with were very sweet,' said Hamid, who was not even offended when one individual commented that she 'didn't look scary,' but 'like a good one' while they were standing in line.
Everything changed however when she decided to stand.
'The ugliness really came out fast and that's really scary,' said Hamid.
Major Steven Thompson of the Rock Hill Police Department said that Hamid was removed because police were briefed beforehand that 'anybody who made any kind of disturbance' would be escorted from the premises.
Trump meanwhile has not spoken about the incident, but did write about the event on Twitter Friday night, saying; 'Great even in SC tonight! Fire Marshall would not let everyone in-- 5,000 turned away. Thank you for coming!

Despite her treatment and the abuse she received from the audience, Hamid was quick to excuse the individuals and place the blame on Trump and the comments he has made over the course of his campaign.
'This demonstrates how when you start dehumanizing the other it can turn people into very hateful, ugly people,' she said.
'It needs to be known.'
Hamid, who is the co-founder and president of Muslim Women of the Carolinas and writes a column for The Charlotte Observer about her faith, had been discussing Trump just days before during an appearance on a local radio program, Charlotte Talks
She was raised in America after being born to a Colombian mother and a Palestinian father, and a 2009 World Hum profile offers some insight into just why she believes she can change people's misconceptions and Muslims.
Hamid, a flight attendant, decided in 2005 to begin wearing her hijab at work.
Some criticized her for doing so post-9/11, including coworkers, but she managed to take it all in stride.
                                                          The Woman Hamid

'There’s a saying of the Prophet that the person who gives salutations first is the most blessed,' Hamid said in that interview.

'If every person was competing to be the first one to say hello, if that was the way we lived our lives, that would really change the world.
