Niger-Delta Philanthropist Book Club Set to Award Participants
A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) book club owned by Niger-Delta philanthropist, Godfrey Pondi is set to have concluded plans to award participants of his book review competition of the book called 'From Third World To First' by Lee Kuan Yew. The participants were members of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS).
This was made known to Gbaramtu voice newspaper by the Club’s coordinator, Comr. Victor Isereke in a statement, stressing that the founder of the Book Club, Mr. Godfrey Pondi, a renowned Niger Delta philanthropist, believes in using books as a catalyst for the emancipation of the Niger Delta region particularly the Ijaws intellectually.
According to Isereke, he noted that while some members of the Gbaramatu Students Association have submitted its review papers, a larger chunck of the students where yet to submit, he particularly called on NAGS to expedite the submission processes as the examiners from the Book Club are set.
In giving the Book to be reviewed by the students, the founder of the Book Club, Mr. Godfrey Pondi personally picked Lee Kuan Yew’s book entitled “from third world to first”.
It was a Book chronologically detailing all antecedents Singapore under the leadership of Lee Kuan Yew went through before getting to where it is today; the many challenges, sacrifices, political, social and the multifaceted battles with the belief that humans anywhere in the world including Niger Deltans particularly the Ijaws, with the right persons in place have the capacity to drive the needed change they desire before anyone can do it for them.
Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper learnt that the Book Club started its maiden edition with the National Association of Ogulagha Clan Students, NAOCS with cash prizes allotted to the three winners.
A Niger Delta based Philanthropist, Mr. Godfrey Pondi, through his Book Club, the Godfrey Pondi Book Club demonstrated his clear mission by intellectually building Niger Deltans particularly the Ijaws for the liberational struggle of the region.
“All arrangement is now set to award participants for the Godfrey Pondi Book Club review challenge for members of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS).“The exercise was to award members of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students to reward hardworking participants with mouth watering cash prizes and reward Plaques.“The winner of the competition will go home with a cash prize of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (150,000) naira. The second place winner will go home with One Hundred Thousand (100,000) naira while the third place winner will receive Fifty Thousand Naira (50,000).” Victor Isereke stated.
Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper learnt that the Book review challenge started its maiden edition with the National Association of Ogulagha Clan Students, NAOCS with cash prizes allotted to the three winners as it would be recalled that that is the same book to be reviewed by NAGS.

Niger-Delta stakeholders meet with President Buhari.
Photos from Niger-Delta Leaders and stakeholders meeting with president Buhari at the state house Abuja yesterday 1st of November. The purpose of the meeting was to dialogue and discussed how the Militancy and pipeline bombing will come to an end in the Niger-Delta. The leaders told president Buhari 16 things that will bring peace finally to the region. The most crucial among the demands were: to approve more funds for the Niger-Delta Amnesty programme; re-instate the Marine time University; cleaning up of oil wells; Remove the army from the region; order companies to move headquarters to the region; oil firms to employ more of the region youths and more funds for the development of the region. The meeting lasted for 2 hours and immediately after that group photos was taken outside the villa. Some of the people present at the meeting were; Elder E.K Clark, governors of Delta and Bayelsa state, vice president, Chief of staff and Godspower Gbenekama, The traditional spokesman of Gbaramatu Kingdom

Wait o, is this true or false?Hollywood has made a movie already of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg visit to Lagos, Nigeria. The movie features Ghanian actor Van Vicker who played the Zuckerberg role, John Okafor, and Francis Odega. I do not know if this is true, if it is then it is very hilarious.
